No one knows their students better than teachers. In 2025, educators strengthened that connection in meaningful ways: Every lesson plan, every report card, and every piece of feedback helped create lasting impact for learners.

Last year also saw increased AI adoption in classrooms across the country. But teachers weren’t using AI for the sake of it. They turned to digital tools to simplify workflows, cut down on prep time, and stay focused on supporting students.

“Embedding AI into students’ lives now is so important because it’s going to be a natural part of their jobs as adults,” says Johnnie L., a teacher at Aurora Public Schools. “MagicSchool has made it possible for me to balance my time better, helping each student more effectively while feeling less overwhelmed.”

Together, our MagicSchool community built a year defined by routines, confidence, and classroom momentum. Here’s a look at what shaped 2025, plus a few ideas to help classrooms head into 2026 with clarity, confidence, and renewed energy.

How customization helped learning stick

Two specific features defined 2025: Custom Chatbots and Student Rooms. Their growth highlights how teachers and students leaned into more personalized, guided ways of learning.

Chatbots: These interactive tools improved instruction and feedback with a smoother, more student-centered flow. Teachers used them to personalize learning without starting from scratch, while students used them for study support and creative exploration.

Student Rooms: MagicStudent was used by millions of students in 2025, with Student Rooms growing more than 300 percent year over year. What stood out most was how students chose to use them. They gravitated toward tools that helped them explore ideas, revise writing, and build confidence.

After using the writing coach to get feedback, one student shared, “I feel like a professional writer now. It sounds so good!”

  • Games: Try a “yes or no” vocabulary game to uplevel student writing
  • Tutors: Build a custom AI tutor for a historical moment or holiday like Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • Resources: Upload documents (e.g. PDFs, Google Docs, website links) related to specific class material
